My paintings begin with the human figure.
They explore the space where identity starts to dissolve and painting begins to speak for itself.
Faces appear only briefly before they disappear beneath layers of colour, gestures and traces.
Every mark covers another while simultaneously revealing what remains underneath.
I am interested in the moment when recognition becomes uncertain—when an image is no longer about a person, but about memory, presence and perception.
The abstract works are not separate from the portraits. They are the same language after the face has vanished.
Each painting is an attempt to reduce the image until only its essential energy remains.
